Howl’s Moving Castle Novel by Diana Wynne Jones, written by Hayao Miyazaki

Plot summary: Eighteen-year-old Sophie, who runs her late father’s hat shop, has a chance encounter with the mysterious wizard Howl who takes a liking to her. The meeting attracts the attention of the Witch of the Waste, who has been seeking Howl’s love for her own, and the Witch places a curse on Sophie, turning her into a 90-year-old woman with the inability to tell anyone about the curse. Sophie decides to seek out Howl in the Wastes, encountering and befriending an animated scarecrow she names Turnip Head. They eventually come across Howl’s moving castle; inside, Sophie is greeted by the fire demon Calcifer that powers the castle and recognizes that Sophie has been cursed. Calcifer offers to break the curse in exchange if Sophie can break the bond between Howl and Calcifer. When Howl arrives, Sophie claims that she is the castle’s new cleaning lady. As Sophie adjusts to life in the castle, she discovers that the front door is a magic portal that leads to several destinations. She also comes to learn that Howl is vain and immature, and that the Witch of the Waste’s vengeful behavior was due to how Howl treated her in the past once he discovered her ugly appearance.

Howl’s Moving Castle, is an adoring, heart-felt movie by Hayao Miyazaki based on the novel by Dianne Wayne is wonderfully built story of beauty, jealousy, war, romance and that touch of magic. The beautifully depicted animation, the speed and and the fleetingness of this movie is so touchingly beautiful piece of artwork. The storyline is heart felt, the characters are so adoring, the power and the of one’s life is wonderfully depicted. This movie presents the terror of war, the bravery our darling little Sophie as our heroin. We all love those kind of movies about romance, that little sad story that comes along with our characters, the strong power of two kingdoms fighting. It does not matter what kind of person you are who are not into a movie like this but we’ve all watched it a least once or maybe even twice, but we all fall in love with simple beauty of love and war that ourselves wager against one’s self. We let our imagination go wild with story like “Howl’s Moving Castle” with the simplistic but beautifully complex story of witches, wizards, magic, the peaceful to the scary sceneary of the movie. The detail of “Howl’s Moving Castle” is gorgeous, the colours, the character design and the strange depiction of creatures and other sorts of building structures.
I adore this film, I’ve seen it many times and have not gotten bored from “Howl’s Moving Castle” beccause something attracs me into wanting to watch over and over again. As I said before, it does not matter if you don’t like this type of movie but it is movie at least once whether you liked it or not. I highly recommend “Howl’s Moving Castle” as film to watch i you haven’t seen if not even more than once. I give “Howl’s Moving Castle” out of 10: 9/10
